Jabiru J230 24-4831

We collected this new aircraft from the Jabiru factory in Bundaberg in November 2006. It is fitted with Jabiru’s own 3300cc six cylinder engine that develops at least 120 hp. This aircraft is registered in the ultralight category and is fitted with just two seats. It can be registered in the GA VH- Category and in this case the identical machine can be fitted with four seats.

It is equipped with a ‘glass instrument’ panel (computer style digital readout display) and is supplemented by the usual round analogue gauges. It has a cruise speed of 120kts, burns around 20 ltr per hour and has an endurance of over six hours.

The photograph shows Lloyd and Bob at Forrest, on the Nullabor where they made an overnight stop on the delivery flight. Forrest was set up in the 1930s along side the railway line to cater for the first trans continental flights. Passengers and crew made an over night stop here. Forrest is well worth a visit and a great overnight stop.
