Kambalda Trip (see photo gallery for some pics)
The Kambalda trip was organisied for the weekend of the 18th of july. This was part of Bunbury
Flying Schools regular training program with the local flying club. There was to be three or four
aircraft take part, however the weather was pretty ordinary and only Lloyd, Ian, Darryl and Peter
managed to get up there.
We were able to fit some training in on Saturday with Brad Walker, Steph
Carefilis getting in some flights. Peter and Darryl arrived just after lunch and a few of the locals
enjoyed a couple of trips in Peters Lightning. Thay were all very impressed. Saturday night we had
a very enjoyable night at the bowling club before retiring to Ron Dormer’s for the night.
On Sunday morning the weather started to come in and after Charlie Bell had managed to do a circuit
it was time to head for home. The trip home involved a fuel stop at Narembeen and we arrived home at
about 3.30pm just in time to beat the rain. Thanks to Ron and all the crew from Kambalda for
an enjoyable weekend and we look forward to getting back up there with a few others later on in the
year.
