Night VFR Rating

Overview

This course is designed to give you the knowledge, practical skills, experience and confidence to plan for and conduct flight operations as pilot-in-command on a light piston aeroplane by night under the VFR.

Flying Training

The course is planned on a minimum total of 15 hours.
Training is conducted in a Cessna 172 and includes circuits and navigation exercises (in both controlled and non-controlled airspace).  Navigation exercises include the use of en-route navigation aids such as GPS, NDB or VOR.

Theoretical Training

The associated theoretical training is integrated with the flight training, in the form of briefings prior to each flight.  Some theory will be presented as stand-alone briefings, with the option to self-study
