Transition your love of flying into a rewarding career in aviation with our Commercial Pilot Course featuring integrated Commercial Training in our Cessna 206 Stationair. This unique course is targeted to students who have not flown previously and want a career as a Commercial Pilot.
Training
AVI50222 Diploma of Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence – Aeroplane) is a full-time integrated course structured to meet the CASA regulatory requirements. Bunbury Flying School is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 52396) delivery nationally recognised training and ensuring students receive high-quality training, procedures and standards that meet industry standards.
The course consists of 28 core units and 1 elective unit.

156.4 hours flight training in both Cessna 172 and Cessna 182 or Cessna 206
70 hours Pilot in Command flying

Ground school subjects include Navigation, Meteorology, Human Factors, Flight Rules and Air Law, Aerodynamics, Aircraft General Knowledge, Operation, Performance and Flight Planning.
Complete 7 CASA Exams
Theoretical knowledge training is integrated with practical flight training throughout the course.

Graduates who successfully complete the AVI50222 Diploma of Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence – Aeroplane) and obtain their CASA Commercial Pilot Licence are qualified to begin their careers as professional pilots.

Our 2026 course fee is $97,500. As an approved VET Student Loans provider, eligible students may be able to access loan assistance. Please refer to the fee inclusions, exclusions and Vet Student Loans outlined below.

Eligible for a CASA Class 1 Aviation Medical
Eligible for an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
Achieved WACE or equivalent
Achieve ACSF exit level 3 in reading and numeracy from our LLN Robot Assessment Tool
18 years old by the CPL flight test

Application Process
Starting your journey toward becoming a commercial pilot is an exciting step, and our application process is designed to make it as clear and supportive as possible.

Submit application through our website. Once submitted you will receive a confirmation email.

Please provide copies of Identification (citizenship, passport, birth certificate), WACE certificate and any other relevant qualifications.

As part of our application process, students will be required to undertake a Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment. Following the outcome of this, an interview will be conducted with our Head of Operations.

Create a myCASA account and obtain an Aviation Reference Number (ARN). Login onto the CASA website for more information. Provide Bunbury Flying School with ARN number once completed.
Find Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DAME) through the CASA website and book in a Class 1 Medical examination.

Successful applicants will review a letter of offer. Once the offer is accepted, applicants will be formally enrolled into the course for commencement.
