Private Pilot Licence (PPL)

This course allows you to learn to fly and gives you the freedom to fly anywhere within Australian airspace for recreational flying purposes.

WHAT IS A PRIVATE PILOT’S LICENCE?

The fundamental difference between a Recreational Pilot and a Private Pilot Licence (PPL) is the freedom to travel further without supervision, ability to qualify for night flights, and the size of aircraft you can qualify in. Your PPL will permit you to fly through controlled airspaces, participate in flights as pilot-in-command, or co-pilot during private flights.

OUR PRIVATE PILOT TRAINING COURSE

Our RPL course meets all CASA regulations and syllabus content, and is structured around same day integrated theoretical and practical flight training. You will complete our private pilot training with competency in basic and intermediate handling, navigation and instrument flying.

WHAT’S INVOLVED?

FLYING TRAINING

The PPL Course includes a total of 54 hours flight training in a Cessna 172:

  • 38 hours of dual flight training;

  • 10 hours solo flying and;

  • 6 hours of simulator flying

The course requirements include a minimum of 38 hours under dual control, and 10 hours of solo flying however we quote additional hours for potential retraining given the course is competency based.
